After an unpopular university professor in northern Arizona goes missing, Flagstaff

detective Luis Ortega is called in to investigate. Soon, a body is discovered in a downtown

parking garage.

Journalist Miles Harper is looking for answers. Jealous administrators, bitter colleagues,

and a slick media personality are all connected to the case.

Madeline Sullivan, recently hired at the university, informally assists in the investigation

by supplying clues—risking her own safety.
